Cancellation /Diversion/short termination of trains due to agitation in Punjab area of Northern Railway
A. Cancellation/Short Termination of trains:-
1. The 1058 Amritsar-Dadar leaving Amritsar on 25.05.09 will be cancelled between Amritsar –Ambala and will originate as 1058 of 25.05.09 from Ambala as Train No. 1057 will short-terminate at Ambala.
2. The 4037 Pathankot-Delhi Express departing from Amritsar on 26.05.09 will remain cancelled between DelhiI and Amritsar
3. The 2926 Amritsar-Bandra (T) Paschim Express will originate from Panipat on 25.05.09 instead of Amritsar.
4. The 5708 Amritsar-Katihar Express will originate from Delhi on 25.05.09.
5. The 2476 Jammu Tawi- Hapa Superfast Express leaving Jammu Tawi on 25.05.09 will remain cancelled between Jammu Tawi-Ludhiana . The 2471 Bandra-Jammu Tawi Swaraj Express which left New Delhi on 25.05.09 will be short terminated at Ludhiana.
6. The 2331 Howrah-Jammu Tawi Himgiri Express arriving Jammu Tawi on 25.05.09 will be short terminated at Ludhiana and its return service the 2332 leaving Jammu Tawi on 25.05.09 will remain cancelled between Jammu Tawi and Ludhiana and 2332 will originate from Ludhiana on 26.05.09.
7. The 4649 Jaya Nagar-Amritsar Saryu Yamuna arriving Amritsar on 25.05.09 will be short terminated at Delhi and will originate as 4650 from Delhi on 25.05.09. The 4650 leaving Amritsar on 25.05.09 will remain cancelled between Amritsar-Delhi.
8. The 2715 Nanded-Amritsar Sachkand Express arriving Amritsar on 25.05.09 will be short terminated at New Delhi and the 2716 of 26.05.09 will originate ex New Delhi on 26.05.09. 2716 leaving ASR on 26.05.09 will remain cancel between Amritsar and New Delhi.
9. The 2919 Indore-Jammu Tawi Malwa Express arriving Jammu Tawi on 25.05.09 is short terminated at Rajpura Jn. Its return service, the 2920 leaving Jammu Tawi on 25.05.09 will remain cancel between Jammu Tawi and Ambala and will originate from Ambala.
10. The 3049 Howrah-Amrisar arriving Amritsar on 25.05.09 is short terminated at Doraha. Its return service, the 3050 Amritsar-Howrahof 25/26.05.09 will originate from Saharanpur.
11. The 2029 New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Express which left New Delhi on 25.05.09 is short terminated at Ambala City and its return service, the 2030 Shatabdi Express of 25.05.09 will originate from Ambala City.
12. The 2497 Nizamuddin-Amritsar Shan-e-Punjab Express which left Nizamuddin on 25.05.09 is short terminated at Ambala and 2498 Shan-e-Punjab Express of 25.05.09 will originate from Ambala.
13. The 9224 Jammu Tawi-Ahmedabad Express leaving Jammu Tawi on 25.05.09 will remain cancel between Jammu Tawi and Ferozpur.Its return service, the 9223 Ahmedabad-Jammu Tawi arriving Firozpur on 25.05.09 will be short terminated at Ferozpur and will originate as 9224 from Ferozpur on 25.05.09.
14. The 4681 New Delhi-Jallandhar Intercity Express leaving New Delhi on 25.05.09 will be short terminated at Ludhiana and the 4682 Intercity Express of 26.05.09 will originate from Ludhiana. Train will remain cancelled between Ludhiana and Jallandhar City.
15. The 2459 New Delhi-Amritsar Intercity Express leaving New Delhi on 25.05.09 will be short terminated at Ludhiana and 2460 Intercity Express of 26.05.09 will originate from Ludhiana. Train will remain cancel between Ludhiana and Amritsar.
16. The 5209 Saharsa-Amritsar Jansewa exp is short terminated at Jagadhari and will originate as 5210 of 26.05.09 from Saharanpur. 5210 of 26.05.09 will be canceled between Amritsar and Saharanpur
17. The 2317 Sealdah-Amritsar Akal Takht Express arriving Amritsar on 25.05.09 is short terminated at Saharanpur .Its return service, the 2318 Akal Takht Express of 26.05.09 will originate from Saharanpur and will remain cancelled between ASR and Saharanpur.
18. The 4034 Udhampur-Delhi Jammu Mail will remain cancelled on 25.05.09 Consequently its return service 4033 will remain cancelled on 26.05.09.
B. Trains held up in Punjab area:-
1. The 413 Special which left Varanasi on 24.05.09 is short terminated at Goraya
2. The 2491 Sonepur-Jammu Tawi Mour Dwaj Express which left Saharanpur on 24.05.09 is held up at Phagwara
3. The 6317 Kanya Kumari-Jammu Tawi Himsagar Express arriving Jammu Tawi on 25.05.09 is held up near JRC.
4. The 2203 Saharsa-Amritsar Garib Rath Express will be regulated at New Delhi.

Subject: Implementation of the Recommendations of the Visual Sub-Committee.
6. Periodical re-examination of serving Railway Employees:
6.l. In order to ensure the continued ability of Railway employees in Classes A l, A 2, A 3, B l and B 2 to discharge their duties with safety, they will be required to appear for re-examination at the following stated intervals throughout their service as indicated below:
6.1.1. Classes A l, A 2 and A 3 —At the termination of every period of three years, calculated from the date of appointment until they attain the age of 45 years, and thereafter annually until the conclusion of their service.
Note: (l) The staff in categories A l, A 2 and A 3 should be sent for special medical examination in the interest of safety under the following circumstances unless they have been under the treatment of a Railway Medical Officer.
(a) Having undergone any treatment or operation for eye trouble irrespective of the duration of sickness.
(b) Absence from duty for a period in excess of 90 days.
(2) If any employee in medical category A has been periodically medically examined at any time within one year prior to his attaining the age of 45, his next medical examination should be held one year from the due date of the last medical examination and subsequent medical examination annually thereafter.
If, however, such an employee has been medically examined, at any time earlier, than one year prior to his attaining the age of 45, his next medical examination should be held on the date he attains the age of 45 and subsequent medical examination annually thereafter.
Ammendment: It was ammended in 1993 as below

Age 45-55 every 2yrs
Age 55-60 every year

As per Rly Bd's Guideline of Medical Exam issued vide LNo. 88/H/5/12 dated 24-01-1993
a) PME would be done at the termination of every period of 4 years from date of appointment / Initial medical Exam till the date of attainment of age of 45 years, every 2 years upto 55 years & there after annual till retirement.
b) Employees who has been periodically examined at any time within 2years prior to his attaining the age of 45years would be examined after 2years from the date of last PME & subsequent PME for every 2years upto 55years age.Of
