No.AIRF/387 Dated: September 27, 2010
The General Secretaries,
All Affiliated Unions,
Sub: PLB to group `C’ and `D’ Railway employees for the year 2009-10
I understand your anxiety about the PLB. As you are aware, Ministry of Finance was putting all its pressure to change the PLB formula, for which we did not agree.
Now, they are insisting that, if Railways want to increase number of days, it will require approval of the Cabinet.
According to existing PLB formula, there should be minimum increase of 02(two) days than the last year, which will come to 77 days. We have discussed this issue at the highest level and expressed our anguish over the delay in announcing PLB for the year 2009-10.
Hope, the issue will be sorted out soon and orders to this effect will be issued early. This is for your information.
