No.AIRF/24(C) Dated: June 16, 2011
The General Secretaries,
All Affiliated Unions,
Sub: Feedback on the meeting held today with Hon’ble MoSR
Today, i.e. on 16th June, 2011, I met Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways, Shri Mukul Roy and handed him over burning demands of the Railwaymen as well as a copy of the Resolution submitted by AIRF to the Railway Board vide letter No.AIRF/24(C) dated April 27, 2011 and explained him why Railwaymen are on the path of agitation.
He discussed all the issues with me and made it clear that he will take position on all our demands and will further hold discussion with the Federation.
He assured that he is a person who likes that the Railwaymen must be satisfied. Without their satisfaction Indian Railways cannot progress.
He also admired for the support of the Federations and hope for future cooperation.
He also mentioned that he will support the cause of the Railwaymen, particularly our demand of recruitment of wards of Railway employees as Substitutes.
He also assured for positive and appropriate action on our demand – regularization/absorption of quasi-administrative offices staff in the Railways.
On our demand of giving Privilege Pass to both mother and father of Railway employees, he stated that medical facilities have already been extended to them and on the same pattern he will try to resolve the issue.
He also stated that the issue of recruitment of wards of Railway employees against LARSGESS will be resolved shortly.
On various Welfare Schemes, announced by the earlier MR in her Rail Budget, he assured that these will be implemented early and accelerated.
Regarding resolving the issues of Running Staff and Anomalies he stated that he will discuss the matter with the Railway administration and thereafter with the Federation and assured that he will see that the agreement must see the light of the day.
The meeting was very cordial and the Hon’ble MoSR stated that he would like to meet and interact with us quite often.
This is for your information please.
